Luke's 1st Birthday!

Luke had a great time at his birthday (and so did Reuben who had to "show him" how all of his presents worked). Luke couldn't quite make it to the cutting of his cake, so we postponed that until after tea. Happy birthday sweetie!

Eating chalk

Luke loves to get into Reuben's chalk and have a good munch. He also loves tissues for some reason.

At the playground

Luke had a great time today on the swings and feeding ducks. Also included is a snap of him helping to sort out the clothes!

Growing up

Luke is racing ahead and growing up so fast. He is almost walking and claps his hands and jigs to music. He's lots of fun to have around.

Vanuatu

Luke is born to travel. He had a wonderful time in Vanuatu- loved the rain and driving in cars. As soon as we put the baby carrier on, he'd wiggle his legs and cheer!

Luke has reached the handy milestone of being able to sit up. This has greatly increased his entertainment options!

The Big Rocking Horse

We went to the Big Rocking Horse yesterday to see lots of animals. Luke had a great time in his backpack. We forgot his hat, so he thought it was pretty funny to wear his shirt on his head!

My first beer

Luke had his first taste of beer tonight. A nice James Boag. (Of course he's not really drinking it- he's strictly a milk man)

First time in the high chair

Today Luke had his first feed in the high chair. He loved it! Reuben had a bit of trouble letting him use it at first though. Reuben helped feed Luke when I wasn't looking (which was slightly freaky when I heard Luke choking). All in all a success!

Cousins or brothers?

Father's Day

Reuben and Luke gave Mike a new toolbox for Father's Day. They also got him some scuba diver cufflinks to go on his power shirts. Reuben couldn't stop playing with the box they came in and was convinced they were a present for him. We had a lovely day with Grandpa Jim, Grandma Anne, Uncle Nick, Auntie Sarah, Jack, Uncle Peter and Auntie Shelley!

Dummy-not

I have offered Luke a dummy from a few days old in order to give him something to help him settle. He flatly refuses to take one. I've tried all shapes and sizes- even the Collingwood one. He seems to be content to suck his fingers, which I suppose in the long run is better than having to replace a dropped dummy in the middle of the night.

Time for a chat

Luke has a buddy who he likes to chat to. Her name is Summer and she is Siam's baby sister (Reuben's friend). Thanks Moni for the photo!

Gold Coast

Luke has had his first plane trip at 3 months and what better place for a bub than the sunny Gold Coast! It was a challenge sleeping in the same room with both Luke and Reuben- hearing every snuffle and snore. Luke was a trooper- learning to sleep through Reuben's exuberant antics in the room and showed himself to be generally chilled with new situations. It was also good to be able to spend some time with just Luke when Reuben played in the kid's club at the resort.

Kuipto forest

We went to Kuipto forest on Sunday with Ciocia Aleks. Luke was pretty chilled- snoozing in his pram and checking out the trees. His eyes were open wide as he took it all in. He had Aleks wrapped around his little finger as she kept him entertained! Such a social little bub.

Uncle Nick and Jack came around on friday and Luke posed for some happy snaps. They are a million times better than the ones from Colonades! (what was I thinking). I bought a guilt photo for $85 which is a stylized baby shot complete with denim hat. What a sucker...

Playing with Reuben

Reuben is a very affectionate big brother. He like to kiss and hug Luke and wrestle with him. Reuben also wants him to appreciate his love of all thing Thomas!
